Laguna Hills 1/2 Marathon

On Memorial Day I ran the Laguna Hills half marathon with a bunch of my Aliso Viejo friends and had such a great time (although yes, the last 3 miles about killed me this time). Training for this one was hard because since we moved to Carlsbad I lost all my running buddies so I had to train by myself. I'm NOT an early morning runner so it about killed me to get up and go alone... not to mention all the HUGE MEGA hills surrounding my house that ended up messing up my knees pretty bad. BUT- I still showed up, did it, AND set my personal best for a half! I was happy I didn't let my knees stand in the way and had such a GREAT time running with all my friends that I miss seeing everyday. Thanks ladies for making this run so fun and for helping me to push through those last killer miles!!!

Here we all are before the race
Camille, Melissa, Brooke, Sara, me, Rachel, Moka and Michelle

Loved seeing these guys out on the course!
It was a fantastic way to start Memorial Day

After the race
love all the post-sweat

Of course my guys were there to support me

I had a goal to finish the race in under 2 hours.
Griffin on the other hand, had a goal to stuff a
muffin into his face as quickly as possible...

full focus on the muffin...

yep- done in record time
Looks like we both achieved our goals!

just a cute pic of little G and his buddy Beckett
Too cute those two!

Easter Weekend

We had the most fantastic Easter weekend. We started it off with a visit from my parents and my brother Ben. It was HEAVEN having them here! We went to the San Diego Zoo, the Beach, did some shopping and of course ate lots of good food and WAY too much Easter candy. It doesn't get much better than that! Griffin got so much attention and was beyond spoiled.

My little twiners- so cute!

G sat down in the middle of the goats and was in goat heaven

learning how to fly a kite with Grandpa

This kid LOVES to throw anything and actually has a pretty good arm. He was thrilled at his rock selection

In between conference sessions we went outside and had an easter egg hunt in our backyard. Griffin loved finding the eggs but he thought they were balls and ended up throwing them all over the backyard. He was happy to finally discover they opened and were filled with candy and goldfish!

Eating his first peeps- ya gotta start em' young!

Learning how to blow bubbles- he did pretty well at first but ended up just sucking on the wand. I'm sure the soap water tasted delicious

Happy Easter!

New Places

Yes, we moved. I don't know why we fought it for so long.
While we miss friends and our Aliso Viejo, we are having a great time exploring our new area and spending time with all the people we love that live here.

This past week little G and I went to the strawberry fields down the street.
It was messy but G loved eating tons of strawberries and of course, playing in the dirt.

A delightful mixture of juice and dirt :)

And of course- G is still madly in love with his Sophie cat.

This is how he now prefers to watch his morning cartoons.
